Ton vanAndel and Martin Leeuwis

The history of www.aviation-humor.com is quite short. This URL was obtained in August 2000.

It is a spin-off from our main business, writing and publishing books with aviation humor and cartoons by Ton van Andel. These books are sold allover the world since 1982 and to stay in touch with the world with the newest technology an information website about the "Say ..." books was started somewhere in 1998. It was being upgraded and changed regularly and found on "www.leeuwispubli.nl". All info about the books and how-to-order them was there. Later the aviation-humor.com URL was obtained. First this was filled with humor only, later it was linked to our main website.

From November 2001 the websites are fully integrated.

The Martin Leeuwis history is another story: my flying training started in 1972 (more history on personal info page: personal ) and I have been collecting aviation humor ever since. A lot of it only in my head, but during the years I have collected quite some books as well. Some material drained away to Bob Stevens in the USA, who used several stories for one of his books. And after meeting Ton van Andel the main bulk of useable humor was used in the various "Say ..." books. But tons of material remain available and browsing around on the Internet just increases this amount. But fortunately there is a way to share this humor.

Our contribution to the aviation world, and to keep the sales of our books at their constant high level, is this aviation-humor.com website.
