Books

The stories and anecdotes in the "humor" section were found in many ways. Sometimes simple bar talk or hangar talk, others were contributed by readers of the various "Say ..."books, some were found in the many humor-pages on the Internet and many were found in different aviation humor books.

As my library with many thousands of books contains almost a thousand aviation books, I continue working on a list of books. This will be subdivided in several categories. Eventually all these books will appear.

We will make some subdivisions with a limited, but slowly increasing, number of books:

Aviation humor

Recent Aviation Humor books  - This list contains titles, other info and a short description of books with aviation humor or cartoons that are less than 5 years old or, as far as we know,  in reprint. A link is provided for you to indicate a possible desire to purchase a book. This will be handled by a specialist bookshop who will indicate price, necessary time span and success rate.

All Aviation Humor books   - The list contains titles and additional info about all aviation humor books that we know of. Some will only be available via second-hand booksellers or flea markets. A possibility to connect to a specialist bookseller will be provided.

Aviation anecdotes

Anecdotes and memoirs  - Some good flying anecdotes can be found in various books, fiction and non-fiction. Many pilots write their "memoirs" and have good stories to tell. Some of the books can still be purchased.

Aviation novels and thrillers

Aviation thrillers - Many writers have apparently been pilots before they started to write books, and as a result many of their books have excellent "flying" parts. Other writers have asked the right questions to experts and write a good story. We will try to give a short description and an opinion about the aviation part (it is my own opinion though....)

Other good thrillers and fiction

Thrillers - Over the years I have amassed an enormous amount of books. This list gives a limited number of books I would like to share my opinion about, as I like them, or find the books well written.

Many of the older books can still be found in second-hand bookshops, or via Internet.
